Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor Degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university.
Experience: 10+ years of professional experience
3 years of supervisory experience.
PE by exam required, with ability to acquire an Alaska PE.
Assumes “in charge” responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required.
Experience with Electrical engineering and design on the North Slope of Alaska required
Responsible to lead and manage a small team of Electrical engineers and designers in Alaska and interface with URS Houston office with minimal guidance or supervision.
Position will have direct interface with clients
Experience required with construction and start-up support (minimum 2 years)
Experience with Field walkdowns required

US Citizen or Permanent Resident required

No relocation benefits are available for this position.

References required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with instrumentation & controls preferred
Experience with fire & gas preferred
Alaska PE


Job Description:

URS Corporation is seeking a Supervising Electrical Engineer IV, in our Anchorage, AK office.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

Advanced level of knowledge within Electrical discipline and a strong understanding of the other disciplines.
Fully versed with the preparation and execution of project scope for Electrical discipline
Fully comprehends external factors that impact engineering problems
Assigns preparers and checkers for discipline deliverables
Has advanced knowledge and leads the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on budget limitations. Has mastered and can lead all aspects of estimating for a discipline.
Has an advanced level of knowledge of discipline material costs and has an advanced level of understanding of cost analysis and forecasting.
Fully understands and leads the planning and scheduling of Electrical engineering and design tasks
Fully versed in the project change control process, can train others and can identify potential changes.
Strong understanding of Electrical discipline tools for system analysis studies
Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Advanced knowledge of business development concepts and methods; Leads the project proposal process for Electrical
Responsible for performance management and mentoring
Provides assistance to projects to address technical issues related to work process improvement
Develops training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions
Creates and maintains positive working relationships with peer leaders and project team
Creates and maintains productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering
Assists the Department Manager with staffing/recruiting responsibilities
