Minimum Requirements:

BS degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, Geosciences, or related field.

Minimum eight years of relevant experience.

PA PG required.

Hazwoper Certification and current 8 hr refresher training required.

This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within six months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System.

Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients and contractors and be a capable project and task manager.

Working knowledge of the RCRA and CERCLA programs and familiarity with Pennsylvania and New Jersey regulatory programs required.

The successful candidate will be articulate with professional presence and solid decision-making and organization skills.

Candidate must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy.


Job Description:

The Geosciences Department includes a staff of over 40 professionals in geology, hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, environmental sciences, and related disciplines. Candidate will work with project teams that include staff from the Geosciences Department as well as other departments including Environmental Engineering, Environmental Services, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Services.

Candidate will also have support from national network of technical specialists.

Job duties include:

Acting as a project manager and technical lead on environmental geoscience/geological projects and proposals with data interpretation/presentation and field work components, including those related to manufactured gas plant investigation and remediation, PADEP Act 2 regulations, and hydrogeology. The position requires the candidate to assume lead project management and/or technical roles for various projects and occasionally perform or successfully delegate project planning, field testing, sampling, and investigation tasks such as drilling oversight, geologic logging, well construction, soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing and general site inspections.

Other responsibilities include:

Project planning/work plan preparation; data collection and management; interpretation of geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental data; and, data evaluation and report generation. The successful candidate will be capable of assuming complete responsibility for complex tasks/projects and will also provide technical guidance and delegate responsibilities to other geoscience staff members.
