Minimum Requirements: • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Basic knowledge of EXACTIMATE damage assessment software. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. • Basic knowledge of the International Residential Code (IRC) for residential construction. • Demonstrated attention to detail in relation to accuracy of field construction of homes per specific plans and specifications. • Basic knowledge of processes, procedures and work flows relative to scattered site residential construction activities for reconstruction and rehabilitation activities. • Ability to work with contractors and project managers and handle potentially sensitive situations. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills. • Self-motivated with the ability to understand and accomplish tasks. • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to travel and drive regularly, often long distances • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and be able to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions. • Must be able to safely navigate residential construction inspection sites. Job Description: The Disaster Recovery Team West of URS is actively seeking a creative, talented Construction Inspector for immediate employment in the Beaumont, TX office.
Incumbent Responsibilities: • Responsible for working with the Lead Construction Inspector Coordinator and Project Manager in executing residential construction inspections. • Responsible for verifying that the contractor is constructing the project based on issued plans and specifications, change orders, information requests, design clarifications and drawings. • Responsible for verification and documentation of construction progress inspections for reporting purposes. • Responsible for preparing various documents and spreadsheets for inspection reports. • Responsible for preparing daily report on the status of work, including confirmation of work accomplished available resources and jobsite conditions.
