Minimum Requirements:

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or appropriate discipline.
• Pennsylvania PE Required.
• Minimum five years' of relevant experience( with highway bridge replacement or rehabilitation projects completed for western PennDOT Districts).
• Well versed in PennDOT design policies, procedures and specifications in addition to AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Some experience or knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Experience in the use of Microstation.
• Some experience in writing statements of interest.

Job Description:

The Pittsburgh Office of URS Corporation is seeking a bridge engineer with experience in Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design standards, practices and procedures to serve as a staff or project engineer for highway bridge design projects. The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with the preparation of steel and concrete highway bridge design, culvert design, retaining wall design, plan and specification preparation. The candidate should have effective written and verbal communication skills to apply to the management of scopes, schedules, budget, and staff, and to the coordination of design work with clients and other disciplines within URS.
