Job Description:  CH2M HILL Project Manager OMS (Operations and Maintenance Services) – Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the oil industry. Our Project Manager OMS (Operations and Maintenance Services) job will provide you with the opportunity to lead large scale oil and gas operations and maintenance services in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska on a rotational basis.   Each day,  you will be an important team leader providing direction and management for every phase of OMS delivery to ensure safe, on-schedule operations at or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations, which includes meeting all safety goals and Continuous Improvement objectives. You should be a self-motivated, detailed-oriented professional with a BA/BS college or university degree in Engineering, Project Management or other relevant field and 10 years upstream oil and gas project and managerial experience, coupled with a desire to grow both personally and professionally with each OMS project.

Our Project Managers of Operations and Maintenance Services (OMS):



  • Support Director of OMS in decision making, development and implementation of specific guidelines, procedures, policies and measurable goals to help achieve company HSE, business and continuous improvement objectives
  • Provide HSE guidance and leadership. Lead by example
  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections. This position is required to attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training
  • Demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system objectives and the ability to maintain positive support with our contract objectives and goals
  • Plan and define program goals and devises methods to accomplish them
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or subtask
  • Act as the Company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the program execution
  • Establish the program requirements for all areas of the program, and monitors the draft and final adherence to these criteria
  • Promote technical excellence on the program, including furtherance of the Continuous Improvement and Quality Improvement Processes
  • Mobilize Company resources, through effective liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work
  • Work with Superintendents to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of a project
  • Monitor and report to management and clients on the progress of all program activities within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions that would affect program cost or schedule
  • Oversee establishment of Work Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documents for hazardous waste work
  • Assist business development in understanding client issues and business plans in order to market and secure new/additional work
  • Ensure that the program meets or exceeds goals established in these plans
  • Assign responsibility for executing program plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths
  • Provide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
  • Work with individual Superintendents to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work
  • Advise the client and Company management of any such changes 
     

    Additional Information:
  • The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off) .
  • Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided, however transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.
  • CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.

Basic Qualifications



  • Minimum of 10 years of oil & gas upstream project and managerial experience or in oilfield operations management
  • BA/BS college or university degree in Engineering, Project Management or other relevant field is required. Directly applicable upstream oil and gas experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis
  • Ten (10) years leadership or supervisory experience
  • Five (5) year experience working Office Suite programs (i.e. word, excel, & outlook)
  •  Petrochemical or oilfield experience

  • Knowledge of and ability to manage business operations including budgeting, personnel management, forecasting, bidding, and proposal development and presentations
  • Knowledge of the preparation of project bids and the proposal process
  • Ability to coordinate own and others' actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources
  • Ability to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization
  • Ability to assess complex issues and find solutions
  • Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Exchange E-mail
