CH2M HILL Recruiting Manager (Human Resources Manager) – Anchorage, Alaska

Our Recruiting Manager, career path provides you with an opportunity to own, manage, and drive the strategic Human Resources Recruiting operations agenda based out of our Anchorage, Alaska office. You will provide deep functional, technical and strategic expertise in support of the staff planning, recruiting, compliance, deployment and on boarding functions for our 3,000+ Alaska based employees. You will have 8+ years of related work experience with solid knowledge of Recruiting and Human Resource initiatives and a strong track record of successfully providing “hands-on" Recruiting and HR delivery while supervising a team. You will be responsible for inspiring, developing and leading this team of 6 Recruiting professionals plus temporary contractors. You will also use superior customer service, project management and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers and potential candidates at all levels.

  Our Recruiting Managers:   


  • Provide HR staffing and compliance advice and expertise to business leaders
  • Manage all staffing strategies and is accountable to provide all staff required to meet organizational goals and objectives, in alignment with the Alaska HR organization
  • Attract and develop HR talent required to meet the business and enterprise objectives
  • Provide HR functional leadership, guidance and direction to the HR Enterprise Services staff
  • Provide input for the development and utilization of staffing metrics, data, work processes, systems and tools to effectively manage the business operations
  • Provide line leadership coaching and guidance in the sourcing, interviewing and selection of candidates
  • Serve as compliance officer for the HR activities (e.g., FMLA, LOA, Fit-for-Duty, EEO, etc.)
  • Manage all Affirmative Action compliance activities for Alaska in accordance with OFCCP regulations
  • Are accountable for managing all commercial drivers records and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the company drug testing program, authorizes reasonable suspicion testing and manages all company drug policies
  • Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Motor Vehicle Record policy and is decision maker on all new hire and transfer record reviews
  • Provide leadership and direction for on boarding / induction programs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, plus a minimum of 8 years of related work experience
  • Mobility – Must be able to travel and willing to relocate, as necessary
  • Demonstrated HR business partner consultation at all levels
  • Demonstrated analytical and work process management capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability for collaboration and consensus management across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and use sound judgment with limited functional guidance and oversight
  • Preferred Qualifications

    In addition to the basic qualifications the following are also preferred:


    • B.S. in Business Administration with a Human Resources Management or Business Major
    • Masters Degree in a related field
    • Knowledge of construction, EPC and/or heavy industry lines of business
    • Professional HR certification (SPHR, GPHR, PHR)
    • Six Sigma Belt trained for work process improvements
    • Experience working with a union represented workforce

    Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
