CH2M HILL - Senior Internal Auditor- Englewood-Denver, CO

As a Senior Internal Auditor for the firm, your responsibilities will include internal audits, Sarbanes Oxley process and compliance work, external audit direct assistance, business process improvement initiatives and special projects.
Our Senior Internal Auditor responsibilities include: Internal Audit - assisting with the annual risk assessment and development of the annual audit plan, planning and executing internal audits, working with external consultants and in-house staff, documenting and reporting audit results, conducting formal audit follow-ups and assisting with periodic reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
Sarbanes Oxley - process and compliance work to meet regulatory requirements and help meet business objectives. These activities include project management; performing and evaluating control testing; working with internal staff; performing direct assistance work for the external auditors; assisting management in evaluating the significance of any deficiencies and required remediation work; and preparation of periodic reports to management and the Board.
Business Process Improvement - utilizing accounting, finance, and IT system skills to assist management with the evaluation and development of processes and procedures where the business has asked for assistance with expected or known problems. Basic Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- 2+ years of increasingly responsible auditing and project management experience is required.
- Experience with and understanding of the IIA International Professional Practices Framework and US GAAP.
- Superior understanding of internal controls, process flows and financial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to effectively interact with multiple levels of management.
- Willing and able to travel 5-10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications In addition to the basic qualification, the ideal candidate will meet the preferred qualifications:
- Attainment of or progress towards a CPA, CIA, CISA or related certification is preferred.
- General understanding of IT controls and processes is preferred.
- Interest in career development within and outside the Corporate Internal Audit Department.
- Team player with superior work ethic, judgment and integrity who is highly motivated to accomplish objectives timely.
