Job Description:  Senior Mechanical Engineer - Atlanta, GA

The Challenge? Help to meet the ever increasing demand for Electric power. Our Senior Mechanical Engineer position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our Clients provide a safe and reliable source of Electric power to heat homes and schools, run factories, and provide goods and services we all depend upon. Each day your expertise in Mechanical Engineering will enable our utility Clients to meet the power needs of their customers.

Our Mechanical Engineer :



  • Provides detail design of power and utility systems including high pressure steam, condensate, natural gas, compressed air, cooling water, liquid fuel and other auxiliary systems
  • Prepares and reviews equipment purchase specifications, bid evaluations, and equipment selection
  • Provides P&ID development and final engineering
  • Assists in new business and proposal efforts Coordinates with other disciplines
  • Works under supervision and direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer during detail design
  • Travels routinely within the US and occasionally outside of the US
SPECIAL NOTE: CH2M Hill will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H1B, etc) to fill this position. Applicants who are not authorized to work in the US will not be considered for this position.

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in Power or related industry
  • Experience preparing and reviewing equipment purchase specifications, bid evaluations, and equipment selection
  • Working knowledge for fluid systems, heat transfer, thermodynamic power cycles, generation equiptment and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft tools such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in Power or related industry
EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process engineering is preferred
REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • EIT/FE designation is preferred
  • P.E. Registration is preferred
