Job Description:  CH2M HILL Finance Operations Professional: Englewood, Colorado

The challenge? Be at the center of a global leader in full-service engineering, consulting, construction and operations. The Finance Operations Professional contributes individually, primarily through the application of a formal body of knowledge, and may require short-term management of people or project resources to accomplish results. The incumbent accomplishes established business objectives and provides leadership and guidance to other professionals. He/she has knowledge and experience on multiple large size projects that drive cost savings throughout the organization; deep understanding of processes and activities that occur within the accounting and finance function of public and private companies; and deep understanding of one or more accounting functions. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent is preferred. You should have 15 years of relevant experience.

The Finance Operations Professional:



  • Manages the accounting, budgeting, and audit function within the function.
  • Supervises the financial transactions and business operations of the function so as to minimize risks and losses and maximize revenue and profit.
  • Prepares financial reports of the function (income and expenditure statements, analysis of future earnings or expenses).
  • Monitors compliance of operations with Direct Hire Labor Strategy.
  • Resolve common issues – field payroll, time reporting, sales and property taxes, etc.
  • Facilitate cross Business Group assignment of construction staff.
  • Deep understanding of functions' business, financial, and technological processes, and environment.
  • Identifies and communicates solutions to complex, time-critical or recurring business issues.
  • Identifies or initiates an engagement scope.
  • Prepares internal status reports that communicate deliverables, progress, and results.
  • Researches various finance and technological issues in a wide range of statutes such as Davis Bacon, Service Contract, Prevailing Wage, etc.
  • Works closely with other professionals and managers to promptly resolve issues.
  • Facilitate improvement of accounting practices to support the construction business.
  • Provide assistance for mobilizing new projects including the establishment of local bank accounts (if required), training of administrative personnel, etc.

Basic Qualifications



  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance,or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred 15 years of relevant experience.
