AECOM’s Energy business line addresses the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.

We’re looking for a Business Development Specialist to help organize and manage the RFQ/RFP process. In this role you will produce presentations and other printed material in response to formal and informal client solicitations. You’ll need to wear several hats and balance priorities while dealing with clients, technical writers, and sub consultants.

After coming up to speed you will conduct internal proposal kickoff meetings and/or conference calls with the proposal manager and capture team, and drive the process through final production. Using desktop publishing programs such as InDesign as well as MS Word you’ll roll up your sleeves and lay out presentations and produce collateral presentation materials. You’ll be a crucial part of “red team” or other review meetings, articulating rationale and substantiating compliance with client defined requirements.

Other responsibilities include:


  • Analyzing RFPs and RFQs and making recommendations for response
  • Working with graphic designers, print shop, and printing vendors to produce printed submission materials and the final production of proposals
  • Drafting and writing the qualification sections for proposals, SOQs, and SF330s
  • Recording meeting minutes regarding win plan, proposal themes, writing assignments, and production plans and schedule
  • Preparing and disseminating the resulting proposal schedule to include listing assigned responsibilities, milestones, and final production
  • Participating in the quality control review of marketing materials for completeness, correctness, and compliance with requirements

Qualifications:

This position requires a professional attitude, great interpersonal skills, and the ability to work supportively in a team setting. We need someone with the initiative and personal commitment to track details, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.

We’re looking for someone with a track record of working independently delivering results. Knowledge and/or experience with marketing procedures, document and presentation production methods, proposal quality, and proposal processes is desired but not essential. What is essential is being able to handle a fast-paced deadline driven environment.


  • Five years of related experience are required
