Minimum Requirements:

PhD in Engineering or Materials Science or related field.

Minimum 15 years of experience in materials testing, specification writing, and testing standards writing.

Knowledge of ASTM testing standards is required.

Prior experience with US Government contracts is required.

Valid driver's license required.

Job Description:

The Infrastructure/Engineering Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Material Scientist for immediate employment in the Germantown office.

The candidate will be preparing proposals for our customers, based upon existing and new requirements for advanced sensor solutions. In addition, the successful candidate will provide senior level advice, on an "as requested" basis, to support our capture efforts and execution of FEMA TARC contracts.

Their role is to assure we have adequately addressed the full range of requirements from the RFP in our management and technical approaches in our proposals based on their indepth understanding of FEMA challenges with floodwater damage assessments.

They will be asked to assist in supporting meetings with team mates, clients and other relevant stakeholders.

They may be asked to travel to Washington, DC or to other locations as require by their Manager, upon the Manager's direction and approval.

Other duties as assigned.
