Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Entrants to this position 10+ years of experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities. Must have both cost and schedule experience with 2+ years in whichever discipline is secondary. Some field experience required with 5+ years preferred. Requires demonstrated ability to effectively lead a technical organization of at least two planning/scheduling
Strong working knowledge of P6 a must.

Job Description:

URS Corporation is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Supervisor to be based in our Anchorage, AK location

Level Specific Responsibilities: Business Acumen
- Provides analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues.
- Assists in the evaluation of business opportunities and potential profitability and leads the proposal plan and schedule development process.

Leadership
- Supervises junior staff through task development, establishing and maintaining goals and expectations, and documenting performance related issues and achievements.
- Oversees continuous professional development for staff, documents employee performance issues and participates in resolutions as appropriate.
- Identifies and develops talent.

Maintains positive working relationship with peer leaders.
- Establishes and maintains clear goals and expectations for the organization.

Organizational Management
- Leads in tracking action items and corrective actions.
- Assists in coordinating schedule inputs from all parts of the organization.
- Executes efficient meetings.

Technical Skills
- Identifies and analyzes schedule variances and recommends associated corrective actions. Presents project schedule status to the Project Manager and client.
- Reviews and approves output from schedule systems.
- Participates in the development of WBS and helps insure that project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications.
- Expert ability to utilize drawings and specifications as a basis for structuring the project schedule.
- Leads baseline schedule development and maintenance effort. Validates baseline information.
- Excellent skills in all aspects of project scheduling including logic development, progress measurement, schedule impact analysis, resource loading/leveling, schedule risk analysis, etc. as well as command of cornerstone scheduling system.
- Assumes lead role in schedule updating and analysis effort. Performs critical path analysis.
- Familiar with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
- Measures progress and reviews invoices of contractors and participates in approving reported progress.
- Reviews purchase orders and subcontract schedule status and provides management with input on subcontract performance.
- Knowledgeable of scope control and change management and has demonstrated ability to incorporate directed changes into schedule baseline. Knowledgeable in earned value methodology.
- Understands project profit, budget and actual performance.
- Proven ability to develop and assess change order impacts to baseline schedule. Able to articulate change order impacts to project management.
- Familiar with cost analysis integration and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling.
- Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
- Leads the preparation of various levels of project reports to meet project needs.
- Leads project planning and scheduling review meetings.
- Finalizes and approves procedure development and implementation.
- Insures that work methods and processes are optimized.
