Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field.

• Colorado professional engineering registration required.

• 12 years experience in Civil and/or Structural Engineering Design in the fields of highway, rail and transit.

• Project related experience managing design teams on complex engineering projects, especially design/build contracts.

• Experience in people management, including managing a department and/or large projects.

• Client management and project management experience on projects in the range of $100 million construction value.

• Experience preparing design fees and negotiating fees with clients including contractors.

• Extensive experience preparing proposals and conducting presentations.

• Experienced at public speaking with good written and verbal communication skills.

• Experienced with interpreting contract documents.

• Experience in the field of risk management.

• Field engineering experience necessary to be able to make field decisions related to construction conflicts.

• Experience with conflict resolution

• This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.

Position represents the Project Manager role for the Design/Build project opportunities in URS’ Mountain Region with a focus on Colorado. The work entails the oversight of the design team and the delivery of the products required for the successful completion of the project. The position requires the PM to be engaged on the project from start to finish, i.e. participation with the teaming meetings with contractors, negotiation of the terms and conditions for the pre-award and post-award work, preparation and negotiation of the design fee with the contractors, performing the work from the project office with the designated design team, and final delivery of the design product working closely with the contractors staff while supporting the URS design position throughout the term of the work. The position may entail travel and assignments to project offices in the west. The position will be required to be assigned to the project where the contractor deems most appropriate for the project pursuit and execution.
