Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management
• 15 years of senior management experience in the education business sector.
• IE Project Management Certification or ability to obtain such certification within 6 months
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally (in common English narration) and in writing (to include technical documentation).
• Knowledge of IE’s mission, business, capabilities and functions, and can work productively within them
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and tight deadlines, work independently, and work in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 2000 or later with particular emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, and other applicable database and office automation products.
• Ability to engage with senior technical and management staff to obtain necessary information and commitment for a specific effort.
• Leadership skills; recognized among peers as an education sector subject-matter expert.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in identifying education sector strategic business opportunities, developing strategic plans to bring those opportunities to reality in order to achieve construction services division growth and profitability targets.

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented senior manager to lead and expand the education sector program in Washington DC metropolitan area and the mid-Atlantic region. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in providing senior leadership in the education business nationwide and regionally. Responsibilities:
• Incumbent works with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to identify and track opportunities to expand and diversify education services to clients.
• Sets up internal and external meetings and/or participates in the development of proposals, as requested.
• Identifies and solicits potential clients/projects and keep Group Leaders, Operations and Business Lines up to date on new sales, new opportunities, and account issues/news.
• Meets regularly with clients and vendors to discuss current projects, correlates all pertinent information, resolves conflicts, evaluates firm performance, and identifies other business opportunities either with current clients or through referrals.
• Prepares proposals or manages proposal preparation for opportunities with the various clients.
• Develops an account strategy that includes growth targets and resource and works with Operations and Business Lines to ensure client expectations are met; will be accountable for achieving annual sales growth targets.
• Works closely and proactively with HR for recruitment, selection and performance management, including performance planning and evaluations, promotions, discipline and terminations.
• Manages, supports, and evaluates each individual with the goal of achieving their maximum potential.
• Encourages and facilitates commitment, team spirit, pride, trust, and cooperation within the organization and with customer groups.
• Within established policies and overall direction of the client, coordinates required departments and managers to ensure the effective integration of various groups for continuous focus on quality, costs and schedule.
