Minimum Requirements:

Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job-related experience. Excellent communications, analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Candidate must have a broad background/experience in U.S. Navy Fleet and Shore Activities regarding the maintenance and repair of shipboard and shore-based Hull Maintenance , Electrical Systems, Operating Systems, Commodity Classes and Subsystems. Subsystems include an understanding of U.S. Navy organization levels, ship and submarine maintenance and repair policy, procedures and practices. Candidate must have familiarity with basic technical and administrative policies, procedures and practices associated with the Navy Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) System and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).

Ideal Candidate will have previous experience as a Marine Engineer with a vast knowledge of HM&E equipment/systems. Naval Surface Ship background with experience working with Air Department gear (AGE, ACE, RRE), galley equipment and other auxiliaries systems and equipment.

Position may require travel.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

URS is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician with extensive hands-on experience in Naval Marine Engineering systems and equipment to include marine Hull Maintenance and Electrical system/ equipment Shipboard gallery equipment and various auxiliary systems/equipment and Air Department gear to support efforts in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks to include: the tracking and the development of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation. The validation of Planned Maintenance System documentation on installed equipment onboard Navy, Coast Guard ships and shore facilities.

Essential Responsibilities
1. Performs technical reviews and prepares responses to Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) Technical Feedback Reports (TFBR's) to include complete tracking, interfacing with technical codes, In service Engineering Agent and Shipboard personnel to resolve problems for individual systems/ equipment.
2. Develop Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) documentation for new ship construction and/or new systems/equipment configuration using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concept. Maintenance procedures for organizational levels are effective and applicable to minimize manning levels and maximize ships mission reliability.
3. Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, drawing updates operating procedures, maintainability improvements, and test reports.
4. Research technical manuals, blue prints, ship's drawings, and conducts ship visits to validate PMS coverage for shipboard and shore station equipment. Establish, update, and maintain the engineering corporate history of developed PMS documentation, to include Maintenance Index Pages MIPs and Maintenance Requirement Cards MRCs.
5. Establish and maintain a filing system, databases and engineering corporate history for systems/equipment under his/her cognizance.
6. Coordinate with acquisition managers and In- Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) s to ensure accuracy and adequacy of PMS coverage for modified or newly installed equipment onboard Naval Ships and Shore commands.
7. Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
8. Reviews and certifies technical data contained in Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) plan for highly complex systems/equipment is accurate, current and complete for ships undergoing construction, conversion, or extended idleness.
