Minimum Requirements:

URS Corporation is immediately hiring a qualified Aircraft Mechanic 1 in support of U.S. Navy aircraft operations at Norfolk, VA. Shift work and detachments are required.

High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum five (5) years actual and recent organizational level aircraft maintenance flight deck experience is required.

Prior E-2C/C-2A Plane Captain Qualification is strongly preferred.

Shall be proficient in all aspects of NALCOMIS/OOMA, necessary to all line division functions.

Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or aviation maintenance technical school curriculum.

Candidates with prior U.S. Navy E-2C/C-2A flight deck/flight line experience required.

Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment and publications/maintenance requirement cards required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.


Job Description:

The Aircraft Mechanic 1 will perform/inspect line work center scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Direct personnel to meet the demands of a very dynamic flight schedule, interact directly with Naval leadership in maintenance control and with Fleet Readiness Commands Support Equipment Division. This mechanic must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the NAMP with respects to all line division programs and processes. Will be required to become Collateral Duty Inspector within 30 days from their start date. Must be able to supervise multiple aircraft workers at the home station, on detachments and while deployed on aircraft carriers while performing the following tasks: Aircraft launch and recovery, fueling/defueling, aircraft washing, towing of aircraft, daily/turnaround and pre/post flight inspections.
