A Scalehouse Attendant serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a Waste Management Facility; you will be responsible for calculating payments, checking loads, and ensuring the safety of the customer and other employees through observation of safety rules and regulations through use of Personal Protective Equipment. At Waste Management, a scalehouse attendant greets customers, directs customers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately, ensures that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material, provides general upkeep of the Scale House, completes all administrative tasks including regular filing, and completes required reports. You will be responsible for keeping your immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention, attending company sponsored training and meetings as directed, working overtime as needed, and approaching all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service oriented manner. Minimum Qualifications for this position include: High school diploma or G.E.D Zero to four years previous experience. Must be at least 18 years of age or older Must be eligible to legally be employed in the US Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
