CH2M HILL Estimating Professional - Charlotte, NC

Our Estimating Professional position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our Clients provide a safe and reliable source of power to heat homes and schools, run factories, and provide goods and services we all depend upon. Each day your expertise in Estimating will enable our utility Clients to meet the power needs of their customers.
Our Estimating Professionals:
- Review and estimate construction permit requirements for each estimate and any impacts associated with permits. Review and understand Owner permit requirement and any impacts associated with permits. Review and understand other specific requirements such as CEC requirements and any impacts associated with requirements.
- Collect clarifications and exceptions from each discipline estimator, combine and re-word into one master document for each estimate. Maintain master clarification and exception template.
- Collect all issues associated with Risk Management for each estimate. Maintain issues through handoff to Proposal Delivery Team.
- Lead the effort for Estimating and Project delivery team for helping do estimate to budget conversion for the project.
- Lead the effort between Estimating and Project Delivery Team for helping to set up Earned Value Reports to be used by the field for project delivery for each project
- Lead the effort between Estimating and Project Delivery Team for providing as designed quantities and as designed man-hours for each project. Effort may also include a re-estimate of the project.
- Lead the effort between Estimating and Project Delivery Team for project estimating support as may be required
- Assist estimating group in other areas in development of cost estimates.
- Gather and assist in analysis of cost data from past projects to maintain and upgrade cost history database.
- Work with Project Delivery Team regarding final cost reports.
- Visit proposed and current projects as may be required.
- Understand business group format, details and coding structure as this pertains to estimates, earned value reports, as designed reports and final cost reports.
- Lead the effort for development / deployment for any tools / software (such as Smart Tools, RAM) which would involve input from Estimating.
- Lead the effort on keeping Estimating Web page up to date.
- Carry out any duties and responsibilities required of an Estimator 1 or Estimator 2 position.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Estimating Manager(s) or Director of Estimating.
SPECIAL NOTE: CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H1B, etc.) to fill this position.
Basic Qualifications
- 8 years experience in construction field assignments and/or estimating and/or project controls.
- Proficient in estimating or project controls.
- Must have basic understanding or project controls functions.
- College degree or equivalent in engineering or construction management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to use Timberline estimating software
