Job Description: 

The Sr. Manager, Global Retirement , reporting to the Director, Global Retirement, will assist in leading the strategic development and design for global Retirement programs for AECOM. This position holds the responsibility for establishing a global retirement governance policy, maintaining a retirement program inventory, identifying and realizing global synergies as well as the implementation of any new or revised global retirement plans/programs.  This position will also manage vendor relationships as well as the strategic planning and disposition of various retirement benefits programs, including, defined contribution, employee stock purchase, frozen and collectively bargained defined benefit programs. The Sr. Manager will also be responsible for performing annual performance evaluations of Retirement staff.

Responsibilities:





  • Retirement Plan Governance - own, continually develop and maintain a global retirement governance framework and policy guidelines.

  • This framework consists of principles and processes for ensuring accountability, control, and monitoring of material aspects of our retirement plans worldwide.

  • Support, governance and ongoing maintenance of Retirement philosophy and principles to ensure alignment of program design and appropriate level of decision-making.

  • Responsible for design, enhancements, and execution of programs.

  • Assists in: designing and re-designing employee benefits, in developing financial impact of changes, in developing recommendations for leadership approval and in the communications of changes to employees and retirees.

  • Leadership in the development and delivery of topics and materials for the Americas and Global Stock and Pension committee meetings.

  • Continually monitor, improve and ensure all programs meet all governmental compliance.

  • Advise on marketplace trends, relevant laws and competitiveness of programs.

  • Ownership and development of cost management strategies supporting international benefit programs.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Global Compensation & Benefits, Finance, Legal, Tax and HR leaders to facilitate high quality retirement and benefits governance support on global basis.

  •   Responsible for supervision of global benefits consultants, brokers, and legal agents.

  • Supports merger and acquisition activities as required.

  • Confers with vendors and consultants to analyze equity of current benefits compared to trends and legislated requirements and ensures plan documents are accurate and filed on a timely basis.

  • Provide guidance and training to Retirement Department of compliance and administration of plans.

  • Reviews work done by Retirement staff.

  • Make presentation on plan information/changes in person and by internet conferencing

  • Some traveling may be involved.


Requirements:





  • Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in HR Management, Accounting, Finance or related field); Master’s or related advanced degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in retirement, pension, benefits or compensation with at least 5 of the 10 years in retirement, pension, defined contribution, non-qualified deferred compensation, retirement or related experience.

  • Strong technical knowledge of pertinent topical areas including rules and regulations for qualified and non-qualified plans (defined contribution and defined benefit).

  • Solid understanding of the external regulatory and governance environment; strong financial background, investment knowledge and business acumen.

  • Expert knowledge on all aspects of the administration and operations of retirement plans

  • Must have a strategic background as well as a successful track record in managing multiple Retirement and Pension Plans for employees as well as ongoing support of Retirees.

  • Strong experience in benefit strategy and with demonstrable ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively.

  • The individual must also be an experienced people leader.

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively present to senior leaders and to external audiences.

  • Organizational agility and ability to deal with ambiguity, adapt to change rapidly in time sensitive situations.

  • Experienced in conflict resolution Some flexibility with schedule required for interactions with international companies (internal and external).

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills and proficient in the use of databases and vendor software (such as Oracle, ADP and FTP sites).

  • Exceptional ability to reconcile numbers Strong negotiation skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with other HR departments and corporate department (i.e., payroll, finance, accounting).

  • Active participation in professional industry groups (CEBS, SHRM, etc.).

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
