Minimum Requirements: Must have BS degree in a technical field with a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience supporting the design of roadway, drainage, and erosion and sediment control systems.
Must be completely proficient in Autocad, InRoads, and Microsstation. Proficiency in ArcGIS and other GIS software also desired.
Ideal candidate has extensive experience preparing WSDOT roadway, drainage, and Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control (TESC) plans and specifications; experience developing stream and river cross-sections in support of hydraulic modeling projects; and preparing stream and river restoration design drawings.
Must be able to work with others to accomplish project goals.
Must have excellent written, verbal, and time management skills.
This position will work with other roadway and drainage design team members in a co-located project environment. Office will be in the Seattle Washington area.

URS is seeking a Senior CAD/GIS Analyst and Drainage Designer to work on major transportation projects in the Puget Sound area. The successful candidate will work on a drainage design team in a co-located setting.
Primary responsibilities include: (1) Using AutoCAD, Microstation, and InRoads software to design roadway drainage systems, Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control (TESC) systems, stream restoration designs, and landscape planting plans in compliance with WSDOT, FHA, and APWA standards; (2) Preparing TESC narratives and plans in compliance with WSDOT Highway Runoff Manual standards and project specific permit requirements; (3) Using GIS to support the development of reports and plans (4) Coordinating work with other design staff; (5) Interfacing with WSDOT, Contractor, and Design Team staff.
Individual will be responsible for delivering quality designs and reports in a fast paced environment. Individual is expected to be a team player and highly motivated, with strong communication and technical skills.
This position is part of the Transportation Group in Seattle. The position will report to a Transportation Group Manager but may receive day to day direction from a drainage project engineer and/or project manager. EOE M/F/D/V
