Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in environmental, civil, chemical or related engineering field or geology, environmental geology, or hydrogeology.
• Registration and/or designation as a Professional Engineer (PE); Professional Geologist (PG) or capable of being registered in California within 1-2 years of employment.
• Min 5 years of relevant experience with application of environmental investigation and remediation projects and site closures. Candidate need to have a minimum of 3+ years Project Management Experience. And for Internal transfers, PM Certification is required.
• OR - Master's degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for 1 year of experience.
• OR - Demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
• Experience with conducting and managing Phase I, II, III Environmental Assessments, Remedial Investigations, preparing CAP's, Designing, implementing, and/or managing remedial activities; conducting/directing facility site closures.
• Conducted/managed Caltrans or other transportation agency's Aerial deposited lead investigations.
• Prepared and negotiated with Regulatory Agencies including: RWQCBs, APCDs, DTSC, CUPA's, County Health Departments, USEPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• (Specific software experience required if applicable)
• Marketing, proposal preparation, preparation of scopes of work and budgets, ability to prepare and present technical data to regulatory agencies and proposal interview panels.

The Environmental Remediation Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Engineer/Geologist for immediate employment in the San Jose, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Environmental Investigations and Remediation services. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Work may include regulatory compliance; site assessment/investigation; soil/groundwater water/soil vapor remediation/waste treatment systems permitting/design/operation/monitoring; indoor air and soil vapor investigations, vapor extraction systems design and operation, sub-slab depressurization systems design, operation, monitoring, and maintenance; landfill remediation systems (leachate/landfill gas) or application of pollution control technology, and other remedial activities. May be required to design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental health hazards utilizing various engineering disciplines. May also be responsible for planning, design, and oversight of construction and maintenance of structures and facilities, such as remediation systems, water and sewage systems, or waste disposal units to solve environmental problems. Prepare, review and implement field investigation and remediation Health and Safety Plans.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Lead a Group of Environmental engineers (PE's), geologists (PG's), and scientists in assigning and managing projects and/or project tasks for environmental site assessments, Phase I's, II's, III's, remedial investigations, corrective action plans, feasibility studies, remediation system designs, remediation systems installations, maintenance and monitoring, other
• Interact directly with existing clients and develop new clients on the job and through direct marketing.
• Prepare and proposal scopes of work and budget preparation.
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS Corporation.
