Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in area of specialization or 2+ years in trade school training.
Applicant will be required to live within 30 minutes driving distance of Addison Airport in order to meet required response times for emergency / after-hours call-out.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Airport Maintenance Manager, performs general facility and airfield maintenance including but not limited to the following:
Performs troubleshooting and repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings, hangars, and facilities, as well as small equipment, fixtures, and systems.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
Performs work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
Performs Airport Self-Inspection on weekends when on call, or as needed.
Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc).
Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.
Minor pavement repairs including crack sealing and asphalt / concrete patching
Troubleshooting and repairing gate operators, loop systems, fencing, gates and rollers, and control circuits
Grounds maintenance utilizing tractors and cutters, front mowers, and trimmers, including airfield mowing, which requires radio communications with air traffic control
Airfield lighting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, including repair of lighting systems from regulators to changing bulbs.
Equipment operation: backhoe, tractors, small mowers, sweeper truck, dump truck, bucket truck, forklift, etc.
