Oil & Gas Midstream Project Manager - Houston, TX

Our Oil & Gas Midstream Project Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to help our clients provide a safe and reliable source of energy in support of millions of people. Each day you will be part of a team working on projects in oil & gas production to include liquid and natural gas gathering systems, pipeline systems, liquids/gas processing, pump stations, meter stations, terminals, and compressor stations. You will integrate resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality considerations across the diverse engineering, purchasing, construction, and start-up aspects in a variety of projects. You should have experience with all aspects of the project life cycle (feasibility studies and routing/site selection through construction), be self-motivated, and have a background in Oil & Gas Midstream engineering/management with 5+ years of experience.

Our Midstream Oil & Gas Project Manager:


  • Support the project management team as required – must be capable of higher level thinking and growth in support of business development and management reporting
  • Manage day to day project execution to satisfy project requirements
  • Effective liaison with clients
  • Work with office personnel to promote their development in oil and gas expertise and integrate resources from other locations when required
  • Have experience with linear pipelines, gathering systems, liquid pump stations, compressor stations, meter stations, field processing (liquid separation, pumps, compressors), gas processing (purification, fractionation), and terminals
  • Engineering background with a mix of office, field, and construction experience; preferably with both consulting and operating company experience
  • Is experienced with E, EP, EPCM and EPC contract delivery
  • Has familiarity with all project life-cycle phases (feasibility through implementation) and associated gated processes
  • Possesses a strong understanding of process systems, utilities and infrastructure within oil and gas production and pipeline facilities, and a detailed understanding of key engineering documentation
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Works effectively without direct supervision, interface with a variety of people and manage competing demands
  • Maintains effective client relationships
  • Supports Business Development staff when requested
  • Manages multidiscipline project teams (engineering, permitting, survey, construction, startup, commissioning)
  • Achieves project requirements (safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality) for the overall project, with a primary focus on engineering
  • Evaluates and reports project performance to Project Manager
  • Assists in developing total installed cost estimates
  • Makes evaluations of material and construction bids

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical or related Engineering from accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum experience: 5 years
  • Minimum experience in oil/gas pipeline Midstream industry: 2 years
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel (1-2 trips/month)

Preferred Qualifications


  • Pipeline field and construction experience is a plus
  • Operating Company experience is a plus
  • P.E. registration is a plus
  • Well networked within the industry is a plus
  • Experience in any or all of the following: oil & gas pipelines, production/treating facilities, well tie-ins, compression stations, terminals, meter runs, tie ins, or launcher/receivers
  • Willing to relocate for project demands
