CH2M HILL Environmental Siting & Licensing Project Manager Jobs – Anchorage, Alaska The challenge? Provide environmental siting, permitting, and impact analysis expertise for our rapidly growing siting, licensing and permitting practice for energy projects in Alaska. Our Environmental Siting and Licensing Project Manager careers provide you with the opportunity to utilize your experience in due diligence, environmental permitting, and regulatory compliance projects of energy and power facilities with a particular focus in oil and gas production, pipelines, renewable energy, thermal power plants, and electric transmission lines in Alaska. Each day, as a Senior Project Manager and client contact, you will be the face of CH2M HILL as you provide leadership to the development and delivery of CH2M projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with 15+ years of successful experience, have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Planning and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each environmental siting and licensing project manager job.

Our Senior Environmental Siting and Licensing Project Managers:


  • Manage the delivery of projects involving site evaluation, field data collection, permit strategy development, impact analysis under NEPA and other regulatory regimes, due diligence, compliance assurance strategies, and design of associated work processes as well as ensure product quality, and on-schedule and on-budget completion
  • Work directly with clients to understand and meet their expectations, leverage relationships with existing clients to expand our service offerings while continuing to grow new, productive relationships.
  • Interpret environmental regulations affecting the energy and power industries and translate applicable requirements into strategic, cost-effective compliance approaches.
  • Network within industry organizations, technical seminars, and trade shows, including the delivery of technical and business-development presentations.
  • Participate in client development discussions, contract negotiations, developing pricing strategies, and preparing proposals and pricing for review and submission to clients.
  • Develop internal relationships to support the overall growth and success of CH2M HILL's Environmental Services Business Group, mentor mid-level staff, and steward client satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications


  • 15+ years of project management experience with the multidisciplinary aspects of energy infrastructure projects including environmental planning, permitting, and construction monitoring in the Western U.S., preferably in Alaska
  • Proven client development and management skills
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed
  • Extensive experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and successful experience negotiating with environmental resource agencies in Alaska (e.g., ADEQ)

Preferred Qualifications

20 years experience with the multidisciplinary aspects of energy infrastructure projects including planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, and construction management
• Experience with Federal permitting programs such as the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 404 wetland permitting, the US Fish & Wildlife Service or the US National Marine Fisheries Sections 7 and 10 consultations, permitting experience under BOEMRE, the US Forest Service Resource Management and Productivity (RMP) plans, etc.
• Experience with Alaska State or local permitting processes
• Experience with various aspects of business development process including acting as the client service manager, and ability to quickly integrate with senior management team in developing marketing strategies
