Job Description:

CH2M HILL - Project Assistant – Edwards Air Force Base, California

Our Project Assistant career path is your chance to work on military and government design/build and redesign projects serving as a key team member working with scientists, engineers, project managers and other project staff. The successful candidate will be part of a unique team that provides daily routine support for the entry and retrieval of information to and from the approved HM database, and conduct process authorizations. You should be a self-motivated professional and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally.

Our Project Assistants:

Implement Edwards AFB HM program strategy across all media.
Review licensing, material authorization, and perform periodic inspections of more than 20 Hazardous Materials Distribution Support Centers (HDSC) and compliance sites.
May assist in development of user manuals.
Support senior staff in the approval and set up of new HDSCs and the development, implementation, and maintenance of HDSC requirements.
Monitor and maintain effective HM tracking in the standardized HM/HW tracking system.
Support HW management and reduction programs as required.
Perform base wide physical chemical inventory and database reconciliation.
Provide applicable HM/HW training.
Position requires a current Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain). To obtain, must be a U.S. citizen

Basic Qualifications

A minimum 1-3 years of related work experience.

· Must be in good health, able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and willing and able to work under hot or cold weather conditions.

· Must pass a pre-employment and annual medical exam (if required).

· Must have strong knowledge of basic office software, and be able to write a simple but concise report as required.

· Must be motivated, and can work safely with minimum supervision or with a team.

· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

· High school graduate or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

One to three years hazardous materials/waste related work experience on an active military base.

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
