Job Description: 
I. Job Summary


The Lead Closing Inside Sales Representative position receives and closes customer leads from different sources. The Lead Closing Inside Sales Representative is responsible for closing new customer sales utilizing a consultative selling approach, maintaining current customers by utilizing creative problem solving and negotiation skills, handle service changes, and maintain strong customer relationships. Collaborates with a team of Lead Closing Inside Sales Representative to meet and exceed overall team revenue objectives.


II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.


  • Establishes and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction in all sales transactions. Establishes new customer accounts by negotiating service levels, pricing, billing and other required information and services.

  • Consistently meets or exceeds weekly and monthly sales activity goals by utilizing sound telephone based selling approaches for customer leads generated from internal sources.

  • Closes prospective customers demonstrating knowledge of Waste Management services and solutions. Communicates concise and accurate information.

  • Proposes customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations.

  • Utilizes appropriate systems to gather information, provide accurate information, and/or update customer profiles.

  • Effectively use Waste Management sales productivity software tools (i.e., Pricing Tools, AMP, Record Setter, Proposal master, EPLM, etc) to execute sales campaigns via telephone marketing to consistently meet or exceed aggressive weekly and monthly sales activity goals.


III. Supervisory Responsibilities


This job has no direct supervisory duties as required by management. This position does not have hiring/ firing or employee disciplinary authority.


IV. Qualifications


The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.


A. Education and Experience


Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 1 year customer service experience. Internal requirements include 6 months proven success with a customer service focused Waste Management role




Preferred: 2-years of college coursework plus 6 months phone based customer service experience.


Internal candidates must be performing in an above average capacity in their current position, be an employee in good standing and have worked in current position for 6 months.

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc) most of the work day;

  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;
