Job Description: 



I. Job Summary

Supports project manager to execute a comprehensive communications plan for SDO (Service Delivery Optimization) contributing to overall success by ensuring that relevant information reaches its stakeholders at the appropriate times in deployment.


Acts as a 'strategic partner' with project manager to develop communications solutions and craft messages and events that are tailored to diverse SDO audiences. Manages and delivers the week to week action items for communications as detailed in the comprehensive communications plan, as well as additional communications as needed to support SDO deployment.



II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the assigned essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and duties may vary by department.


· Undertakes tasks with little direct guidance and thinks ahead proactively to communications that will be needed

· Works with project manager to execute additional day to day communications

· Drafts high quality messages to diverse stakeholders - including senior Waste Management leaders

· Synthesizes data and observations from the field into coherent themes and incorporates into messaging

· Understands site P&L and contributes business perspective when needed

· Works collaboratively as part of the SDO leadership team to support the field teams with the appropriate communications.

· Owns the week to week action plan for communications and maintains a forward looking view of actions in upcoming weeks

· Manages the 'SDOlistens' inbox - responding to messages from the field and forwarding action items to the appropriate team member

· Actively manages Share point sites including documents to support the field

IV. Qualifications


The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.


A. Education and Experience


Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and three years of experience. Four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.

Must be able to travel regularly.


Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience.

Broad and deep functional knowledge and experience in the areas of change management.


B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements


Preferred: PMI Certification.

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;

  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds rarely;

  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc) rarely;

  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;

  • Normal setting for this job is an office setting.

  • Travel is required and may vary in excess of 50% based on the assigned project requirements.
