Purpose of role: Responsible for driving sales and profit within store through the delivery of exceptional customer service, brand management, stock management, people management and development and ensuring adherence to company procedure and policy relating to the protection of company assets and brand. Span of control will cover approx. 20 locations of both. company and franchise (where applicable) stores through Store Managers Primary Accountabilities: Sales Driver • Achieve sales cash figure target through specific KPI goals across the region in company stores • Define, demonstrate and evaluate service expectations • Use all available tools to maximize transactions and conversion of footfall • Maintain consistent, uncompromising high standards of: • Housekeeping, Presentation, Company Property and Assets People Developer • Train, coach and develop Store Managers to identify priorities based on skill gaps and demands of the business • Demonstrate clear coaching & leadership skills to maximise the potential of all staff in the region • Identify a specific performance improvement plan for each Manager maximizing strengths and areas of development • Assess strength of Assistant Manager and key team players to deliver results • Celebrate successes but react quickly to performance and HR issues. • Ensure store practices comply with Company HR polices and procedures. Ensures store practices comply with current Health and Safety legislation • Work closely with the HR Business Partner and Field Trainer regarding own personal development plan and any employment law, policies and procedure issues on the region • Plan and develop the next line of Store Management to cover all future management vacancies Profit Protector • Ensure all administration, including HR and payroll, is compliant with company policies and procedures • Actively pursue strategies to positively impact store profitability • Control payroll to meet set targets • Maintain and control controllable expenses to maximise profits in each store • Conduct thorough quarterly audits in all stores • Assume responsibility for shrinkage within region, reporting security problems shoplifting, awareness, and staff safety • Conduct store visits in a systematic and consistent manner. • Accurately interpret and communicate corporate marketing, merchandising, and operational strategies to the field Risk • Be responsible for maintaining acceptable standards of critical, store based, management controls to minimise all areas of risk or loss. • Be responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimising the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and responsible for reporting potential hazards, risks, real accidents and near misses to relevant managers Experience: • Multi site management experience, preferably in the Retail or Service Sector. Competencies required: • Proven people management, communication and leadership skills. • Exceptional planning and organizing skills. • Proven successful track record in delivering service, sales and profit expectations. |
