Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Current PE license in the State of Florida or the ability to acquire within 90 days
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industry process engineering and working knowledge of process safety procedures and methodologies
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or Certified Professional Environmental Auditor
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work in temporary assignments in client facilities
- Effective communications skills and be able to interface with clients and other staff members
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environment utilizing interpersonal skills to achieve objectives
- Experience with regulatory compliance
- Requires negative result on pre-hire and annual drug screens
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description:
The Process Safety Engineer position will be responsible for:
- Development of Process Safety Information (i.e., piping, and instrument diagrams, flow diagrams, and heat/material balances, etc.)
- Preparation, evaluation and upgrading of client PSM management program and compliance assurance manual
-Conduct Process Hazards Analyses using HAZOP and "what if/checklist" methodologies;
-Develop Mechanical Integrity programs and conduct MI audits
-Prepare Employee Participation programs
-Develop Pre-startup Safety Review programs
-Develop training programs including awareness training for technical staff, operators, and contractors
-Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) per OSHA PSM requirements
-Conduct OSHA Process Safety Management audits
-Provide consulting services to a broad base of client for both routine and complex assignments with limited technical supervision
-Assignments may include design and development; specifications preparation; testing materials; quantitative analysis and accident investigating and reporting
-Expected to maintain industry contacts and professional relationships and contribute to Business Development goals
-Expected to meet budget requirements for assigned projects/accounts through organized and efficient time management and meet established utilization goals
-Expected to achieve Certified Project Manager status
-Expected to comply with company policies regarding timesheets, expense reporting, project management procedures
-Expected to perform work in a behavior based quality and a behavior based safety manner
