Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. AHERA Building Inspector, 3 years of experience of Asbestos Abatement Oversight, Position requires the candidate to have a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Candidate must be medically qualified to wear a respirator and able to obtain a satisfactory fit test for respirators.

Candidates must have experience reading Plans and Specifications for construction projects and have good written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must have strong skills in MS Word and Excel. The position requires the candidate to be able to climb ladders and lift 40 pounds. The work will include working overtime, working all three shifts including graveyard and some work on weekends. Some overtime work is anticipated. This position will require out of state travel and assignments.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.


Job Description:

The candidate will work within a team of Property Redevelopment professionals on challenging institutional, industrial and commercial projects. The candidate will work directly with the Project Managers on all phases of hazardous materials projects.

Hazardous Materials abatement oversight and air sampling for commercial/industrial project sites including asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials. The work will include bulk sampling of suspect asbestos containing materials, completing daily logs documenting the abatement work of the contractor and collecting air samples outside of the work area. As the work areas are complete, the candidate will be responsible for conducting visual clearance inspections to verify that the work is complete and collecting clearance air samples prior to re-occupancy of the space. Other regulated materials that may be included in the scope of work include lead and PCBs.
