Job Description: 

AECOM Seattle, Washington is recruiting to fill a full-time position for Environmental Engineer.  Candidates for this position will have a degree in Environmental Engineering or related degree, and will have 6 to 12 years experience.  Professional engineer (PE) certification or intent to soon acquire is a plus.  Qualifications that include regulatory, planning, permitting and sampling experience with industrial and construction storm water is highly preferred.  Solid waste / landfill experience is desirable and would offer the candidate particular growth opportunity (although this experience is not required for this position).  Experience with field sampling methods, remediation system selection and design, and remediation O&M are desirable. This position will work with existing remediation systems (monitoring, trouble shooting, and interpretation/tuning), as well as have opportunity to work with  new system selection, design, and installations.  Although focused in Portland, this position will also have opportunity to work throughout the Pacific Northwest, and the western U.S.  Pending the candidate’s experience, this position has opportunity to supervise junior staff and direct staff on projects.  This position also has opportunity for direct involvement with clients, business development pursuits, and growth into a full service environmental consultant “seller-doer”.    The successful candidate will have strong written, verbal, and software skills.  Capability with CAD and/or GIS systems is a plus although not required.

Requirements: 


  • Strong communication skills
  • B.S. Environmental Engineering or related degree )
  • Experience in industrial and construction stormwater management
  • MS Office applications experience, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
  • Project management and client interaction experience is a plu s

Preferred Skills:



  • Oracle based database and project tracking software
  • Knowledge of CAD and GIS
  • Surface Water hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience
  • Groundwater hydrology and Contaminated sites remediation, including remediation systems design, construction and operations
  • Solid Waste / Landfill experience
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior field staff
