The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the Powertrain Test Lab in all technician related tasks. The Engineering Technician will assist Test Engineers in the Powertrain Test Lab as well as members of the design teams with their testing needs.

The desired individual shall be capable of communicating effectively with team members within the Test Lab as well as those from other groups. Balancing multiple tasks is essential to the smooth operation of the Test Lab.

This full time role requires the flexibility to support testing in the lab outside of normal business hours when necessary.
Responsibilities
Perform setup of powertrain engineering tests with focus on efficiency and safety.

Perform continuous monitoring on-going electrical, thermal and mechanical reliability tests.

Perform characterization tests of powertrain equipment before, during and after reliability tests.

Build, construct, troubleshoot, repair and document mechanical fixtures and electrical harnesses.

Troubleshoot and maintain existing electrical, thermal and mechanical test equipment.

Provide intelligent feedback regarding existing processes with the focus of improving efficiency, throughput and safety.
Requirements
Experience with vibration tables, thermal chambers or recirculating chillers.

Read electrical schematics and harness drawings.

Capable of troubleshooting low voltage electrical systems.

Familiar with high voltage DC systems is a plus.

Knowledge in domestic plumbing, copper soldering and brazing.

Knowledge of basic carpentry and metal fabrication.

Machine tool experience is a plus.

Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.

Safety certifications, ERT, CPR a plus.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
