The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant. The position begins in Houston for a period of 3-5 months before transferring to the Tianjin, China location. Role Overview: Advising and participating in the constructability review process Utilizing specialist knowledge and expertise to develop innovative construction techniques that enhance safety, and provide economic benefits and commercial advantage Preparing plans for the safe execution of complex rigging operations on Bechtel projects worldwide (direct-hire and subcontracted operations) Reviewing, from a technical standpoint, and "Approving to Proceed" all categories of lifting and abnormal transportation plans for projects - including those that are categorized as "critical risk", whether prepared in-house or by subcontractors Providing subject matter expert support regarding rigging matters Designing lifting hardware, structural steel supports, and other ancillary devices to perform safe lifting operations Maintaining rigging engineering and execution standards on the project Performing reviews of rigging plans prepared by others Developing training materials (as required) Specifying attendance at approved training courses / seminars provided by manufacturers, distributors, contractors, industry associations, educational establishments, and others Arranging for periods of work in different disciplines in the field and at the office Specifying classroom training, practical hands-on application training, self-taught training text materials, or a combination of approaches Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.) Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, procurement, and construction companies in the world.
