Job Description: URS is seeking a Computer Systems Analyst (Journeyman) to provide acquisition support services the U.S. Army and the Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications Tactical (PEO C3T) at Fort Hood, Texas.
Design, development, testing and evaluation of computer based systems. Experience in the use of current tools and techniques applied to the quality assurance, test and evaluation of hardware and software integration.
The Field Software Service representative will perform analysis of system operations utilizing various operating systems and database management systems. They will conduct fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and individual peripheral devices. Routine duties will include system maintenance and administrative functions including: system configuration and modification; adding, removing and replacing hardware and software items; system startup, shut down, backup and restore; database administration and maintenance; and system user access control. Substantial background in communications and communications connectivity is desired. The Field Support Service representative may be required to deploy on short notice to perform extended TDY to CONUS/OCONUS in support of contingency operations.
This position is contingent and awaiting the contract to be awarded in April 2013.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance to users and maintenance personnel for on-site diagnostics and correction of problems/failures, which render the system or any of its components inoperative or result in degraded performance. Implement corrective actions, and generate problem reports utilizing the Incident Reporting tool on the Single Interface to the Field (SIF) website. • Install, operate, and maintain system components as required to meet the mission requirements. • Perform IT and network services including system administration, information assurance, server operations and maintenance, troubleshooting/diagnosis, help desk operations. • Provide guidance and assistance to system users (operators and maintenance personnel) with regard to the proper performance, maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled), and operation of the equipment and software. • Provide technical and operational assistance to customers in developing infrastructure, theater and tactical IT, communications, and battle command network architectures, processes, and tools. • Provide technical and operational assistance to customers in developing knowledge management architectures, processes, information flows, and tools including web-based portals and web-sites. • Document using the PEO C3T Single Interface to the Field (SIF), Incident Reporting Module (IRM), all hardware and software problems and failures, analysis, and repair/fixes for transmittal to appropriate system proponents. • Ensure that all documentation to include approved changes required for the operation and maintenance of the system is on-hand and can be rapidly accessed on AKO and SIF USF dashboard.PEO C3T • Provide technical assistance for the installation of new software versions or software patches, and ensure correct system configuration and operational status. Document all hardware and software updates in the PEO C3T GSC Equipment Status Reporting tool. • Utilize PEO C3T SIF tools to provide field support reports and battle update briefs as required • Provide software and operator test support to the Consolidated Test Support Facility (CTSF) at Fort Hood, TX and established federated test sites. • Provide both comprehensive and unique field support activity planning, budgeting, integration, and training support functions. • Provide in-theater technical support to PEO C3T PM software fielding teams, to include participation as a team member, as required. • Review, coordinate, and provide written and/or verbal feedback to specific C4ISR software fielding plans as required. • Pass to the customer information from PEO C3T PMs on current software and planned changes. This information would come from websites (SIF, GSC, IFS Portal, etc), meetings, conferences, and Fielding and Training In Process Reviews (IPR). • Establish and maintain a mobile quick reaction capability, to include organizing and deploying when authorized by the COR, as required, to resolve critical operational C4ISR software problems in the field.
