The Computer Networking and Security Analysts will work as part of the Information Systems & Technology team and will utilize the enterprise level security systems and networking practices to proactively respond to challenges at a global scale. The Networking Engineers and Security Analysts will also work with industry respected malware, and network security systems to coordinate a best in class response to computer related incidents. There is a world of opportunities for people in IS&T at Bechtel.

The start date is subject to business workload and applicant availability. Locations will vary based on project needs.

General Job Duties
Computer Networking Engineers and Security Analysts will be responsible for:
  • Being the first line of response for cyber-security incidents and or networking needs.
  • Supporting networking and security team needs.
  • Monitoring alerts and events utilizing monitoring tools and provide day-to-day security reports on monitored activity
  • Managing and resolves security and networking operations tickets in a timely fashion
  • Working with the Corporate Incident Response Team within on incidents and initiatives
  • Participating in the improvement and /or development of security monitoring and networking process and procedures documentation


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from acollege or University, completed no later than Spring 2013 and no more than 12 months prior to Spring 2013
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from a college or University, completed no later than Spring 2013 and no more than 12 months prior to Spring 2013
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Prior co-op or internship experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows, Apple, and Linux based operating systems (e.g. XP, Windows 7, 2003, 2008, OS X)
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Worked with network traffic analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump, etc)
