Minimum Requirements:

Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 6 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) including desktop support for trouble calls. Experience with AutoCAD highly desired for documentation of networks and network facility. Network certifications such as Security+, CCNE, CCNA, etc., would be a plus. CCNA must be obtained within 6 months of position start date. Must be proficient with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with MS Access is highly desirable. Must be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET Security Clearance; current clearance preferred.

We are seeking an Engineering Technologist to provide on-site support at NSWC, Dahlgren VA for the maintenance, enhancement, and documentation of IT network equipment and supporting facility. Provide desktop support for trouble calls for multiple networks and buildings. Track trouble tickets and maintain inventory of facility assets including system hardware and software and maintain corresponding databases. Research purchase requirements and place orders for IT equipment and parts. Receive delivery of facility assets and prepare items for shipping. Document and resolve problems as they are found. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Document facility infrastructure and IT network architecture with AutoCAD. Must be able to comfortably carry 20 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and work safely within a laboratory environment.

Working hours for the position may start as early as 6:30 a.m. or require support until 4:30 p.m. and include occasional after-hours work for maintenance of the network or weekend support for relocating and/or testing equipment.
