Job Description: 

Primary Responsibilities:

·    Working with Federal, State, and Local tax authorities to resolve escalated Payroll tax discrepancies

·    Utilize auditing tools to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax authorities

·    Audit employee records to ensure proper taxation

·    Assist Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst with quarterly and year-end processes

·    Prepare and file tax forms as required ; Preparation of W-2cs, ADP Adjustmate

·    Coordinate the review and implementation of tax changes sent from ADP

·    Research tax laws using various resources to determine proper payroll taxation

·    Investigate and resolve all tax notices, penalties, and questionnaires


  • Complete quarterly multiple worksite reports and Department of Labor statistics
  • Relocation processing
  • GL-Payroll research and reconciliation
  • Manage Payroll Tax server database
  • Process ADP Report Smith reports as needed; DCAA audits, Corporate Tax requests, post payroll processing; 401k, ESPP

·    Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

 

·    5+ years of Payroll tax experience in a multi-state company of 3,000+ employees

·    College degree in Business, Accounting or Finance


  • Extensive knowledge in Payroll and Accounting procedures including Payroll Tax Law and Regulations
  • Detail oriented and proven analytical and problem-solving skills

·    Strong report writing and database management skills

·    Ability to identify and implement process improvements

·    Intermediate Excel and Microsoft application skills

·    Oracle experience a plus but not required

·    ADP experience a plus but not required


  • Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with associates at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to understand various deadlines and utilize resources to meet those deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment.
  • Understanding of and adherence to control procedures.
  • Team player and self motivated.
