Minimum Requirements:

Must be currently enrolled as a Freshman in a anthropology or archaeology BA program at an accredited university.

Ideal candidate must have knowledge of basic field excavation techniques, ability to process (wash, mark and catalog) recovered archaeological artifacts, properly fill out field and laboratory forms.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and Access).

Valid Driver's License with a good driving record and the flexibility to travel

Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to travel occasionally.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The Infrastructure & Environment of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intern for immediate employment in the Burlington, New Jersey office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an education in Anthropology or Archaeology. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Will process artifacts (wash, mark and catalog) and perform basic analysis of artifacts; re-bag and re-box artifact collections for final curation and perform basic research on manufacturing processes as it relates to recovered artifacts. May on occasion conduct archaeological investigations/excavations; screen soil deposits; take accurate field notes; draw accurate profiles and plan views; record archaeological field data; and use digital camera.

This position reports directly to an Assistant Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Manager when performing duties in the laboratory and to a Crew Chief or Archaeological Supervisor when performing duties in the field. Must be able to work effectively in both the field and laboratory as part of a team.

Other duties as assigned.
