Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or Engineering or related Science degree, with a Professional Registration or ability to obtain one after hire.
• Minimum of 10 years working in permitting / siting / right of way or engineering project management for electric power transmission & distribution projects, including proven performance as a Project Manager on previous projects.
• Solid knowledge of the consulting engineering profession, 5 years of which would have principally focused on managing projects and/or client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability with project management software and tools (Microsoft Project or similar) for scope, schedule and budget management.
• Successful candidate will be recognized within the Power T&D industry (siting, right of way, engineering and construction), as demonstrated by authored papers and/or activities in relevant professional societies.
• Successful candidate will bring a strong network of clients and professional contacts in the Rocky Mountain Region. Similar experience and contacts that could lead to client development will be considered.
• Communication skills for proposal and contract scope support with estimating manpower, staffing and level of efforts.
• Commitment to driving strong business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of the Colorado and Rocky Mountain Region markets in planning, consulting, design, and construction for the power transmission and distribution industry.
• Successful track record of managing staff with diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Experience in developing, leading and managing a team.
• This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.

Job Description:

This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team as a Senior Project Manager for power transmission and distribution permitting projects within the Rocky Mountain Region. URS seeks a self-starter, who is recognized within the industry as a successful project manager.
The growth and diversification of the Power Business Line is a top initiative, and the successful candidate will enjoy the full support of both regional and local resources through a committed team environment. This position will develop a close working relationship with the Business Line Leader as well as our Mountain Region Management Team.

The successful candidate will apply knowledge of environmental issues facing the Power industry to find solutions for clients, and contributing technical expertise in environmental or engineering discipline as needed.

Direct responsibilities will include managing large and complex projects and performing technical work, with primary focus on environmental and permitting projects. Example project work may include preparation of NEPA documents; managing biological and cultural resource field teams; permitting and compliance projects for air, water and/or waste at the federal, state and local levels.

Direct responsibilities will also include management of project scope, schedule and budget and accountability to the Principal-in-Charge on projects.

This is a seller/doer role. The successful candidate will build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders in the Power T&D industry to help grow URS business. He/she will also have managed large proposals for power-related transmission and distribution efforts.
