Job Description:  CH2M HILL's Environmental Project Delivery Manager (PDM) – Remedial Construction Careers – Sacramento, CA or Any US location

The challenge? Providing exceptional environmental engineering and remedial construction services to our commercial clients. Our Project Delivery Manager positions are responsible for overseeing the execution of remedial construction work for commercial clients across North America. You will work closely with our full service design/build remediation group to grow our North American portfolio of remedial construction projects. This key business operations position will work closely with our full service Project Delivery Director (PDD), business development group and ESBG Management in the capture and delivery of remediation projects. Our PDM will lead and support our Project Managers and project teams in the capture and successful delivery of design/build and construction projects. Our PDM will provide oversight and management of a portfolio of projects. Objective is to leverage relationships and knowledge gained through the performance of our environmental consulting work on a project into the performance of design and construction services for the client. This will allow us to provide our clients with services through all phases of an environmental projects life cycle from site characterization and the regulatory process through remedial construction. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual with a proven experience in the environmental industry.

Our Project Delivery Managers :
  • Assist in business development efforts to develop potential proposal and project opportunities.
  • Work with our PDD to meet ESBG's planned sales (new business in) goals for our full service work.
  • Assist in the preparation of written proposals and presentations as required to support bids/proposals and capture new work.
  • Provide leadership and direction of estimating teams during the preparation of estimates and subcontractor procurements.
  • Successfully interact with local, regional and firm-wide personnel.
  • Work to meet the planned profit and revenue goals detailed in ESBG's annual business plan.
  • Assume p rofit /l oss responsibility for assigned projects. Work to achieve the planned profit and revenue goals for assigned projects.
  • Lead our project delivery efforts, project managers and project teams to deliver projects successfully.
  • Lead and manage client relations, contract negotiations and awards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with our commercial clients, their consultants and our subcontractors.
  • Participate in agency discussions with the support of internal technical experts and staff.
  • Manage projects you are assigned to from contract award through project completion. This includes safety, personnel, revenue, cost tracking, profit, production, schedule, and quality performance.
  • Ensure assigned projects are preformed in accordance with design, specification, budget, and schedule requirements through the direction of Project Managers and project teams. It is anticipated the PDM will manage a portfolio of projects and project managers.
  • Monitor and ensure effective risk management across the portfolio.
  • Assist in hiring, training, mentoring, supervising, and directing project managers and project staff (technical personnel, project managers, construction managers, contract administrators, schedulers, project accountant, etc.).
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety. Adher e to federal, state, and local regulations during the execution of CH2M HILL business.
  • Preferably have a PE license.

This position is open to any US location.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years experience in project design, engineering, construction and procurement management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, geology, environmental science, or related environmental or construction discipline (MS preferred).
  • 15 years experience in the U.S. environmental remediation business.
  • 10 years experience carrying direct profit/loss responsibility for projects or a business unit.
  • Experience managing at-risk (hard money) environmental projects.
  • Field experience in project management of environmental design/build and construction projects.
  • Experience in the management of a portfolio of concurrent remediation projects.

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
