Minimum Requirements:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Automation Technology, HVAC or related scientific field and at least five (5) years of design experience in building automation systems for HVAC and building controls (i.e. Siemens, Johnson Controls, or Andover building control systems). Current experience in the design, maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC Building Automation systems is required. Good knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE is needed. PE license is desirable. KSC experience a plus.

Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Job Description:

The chosen candidate will perform a variety of engineering assignments in project planning, cost estimates, schedule development, conceptual and detail design, writing test procedures and installation instruction in Automated HVAC Control systems and work as a lead of a design, analysis or review team on engineering assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
2. Generate complete design details and specifications for projects including HVAC control systems, Motor Controls, VFDs, Grounding and Electrical Bonding, Cables and Conduits routing.
3. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering disciplines, operation and maintenance staff, IT, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
4. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
5. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
6. Direct interface and liaison with internal/external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
7. Conduct site visits, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
8. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
9. Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
10. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
