Minimum Requirements: • Minimum High School diploma or GED • Minimum two years of administrative / secretarial / clerical experience • Knowledge of Virginia state financial and project monitoring system, CARDINAL • Knowledgeable in Virginia benefit programs and state personnel policies and procedures • Strong written and oral communication skills • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles • Ability to coordinate/supervise diverse administrative functions and handling of multiple responsibilities • Computer literate; Windows-based application experience • Scheduling flexibility • Current Virginia Driver's License • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
NOTE: This position is designated as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations. VDOT/Contract Management will determine when essential positions are required. DMV records check by the Department is required. Criminal History Records Check and Fingerprint check is required. Job Description: Responsibilities: • Plan, coordinate and be responsible for the business, administrative and support services for the Regional Operations Maintenance Section by adhering to all policies and procedures set forth by VDOT • Gather facts, analyze findings and implementation for procurement activities, accounts receivables and payables • Budget monitoring and assistance to key personnel • Benefit administration, fiscal duties such as time entry, leave tracking, clerical and personnel issues • Check work orders and VDOT forms against daily activity sheets to confirm accuracy and completeness • Maintain and file related documentation and records according to type and instructions • Verify all forms have correct information, signatures and dates The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above
