Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Degreed Architect with at least 5 years of experience in design and space planning of commercial or governmental interior projects
• TS/SCI with polygraph
• Ability to work independently and in team situations handling multiple, demanding, and complex projects in a timely manner with accurate results
• Design experience with systems furniture and specifications, building code and ADA requirements, and IT, communications, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Utilize AutoCAD with SketchUp
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, internal Project Tracking Database, and MS Project software on a regular basis to prepare reports and monitor progress
• Available for limited CONUS travel
• Possess strong communication and organizational skills.


Job Description:

URS Corporation is looking for an Architect to join their Client Support Team in McLean, Virginia. This individual will have direct responsibility and oversight providing interior project management support on specialized projects for a Government client. This position will report to the Program Manager in our Columbia, Maryland, office. The Program consists of multi-year on-site project management of multiple Firm Fixed Price construction projects, Time and Materials projects and reimbursable Level of Effort scopes.
Work responsibilities include:
• Meeting with Clients to develop scope documents for approval
• Developing accurate space plans to document short term and long term planning needs
• Preparation of presentation materials
• Developing schematic design
• Review submittals for quality control
• Coordination of pre-bid and pre-construction walkthroughs
• Negotiating Contractor schedules
• Post updates through database for internal use and client meetings
• Providing construction administration services and evaluate contractor performance
• Report performance to client and management on a weekly basis
