Minimum Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a local university in Civil Engineering or appropriate discipline • Must be capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software • Must have basic knowledge of AutoCad, AutoCad Civil 3D, or Land Development • Basic understanding of aviation and aviation facilities • Knowledge of survey and survey techniques • Knowledge of computers, databases and computer searches • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: URS Airport Engineers utilize their unique education and experience to create exciting design solutions for our airport clients throughout the Florida/Latin America Region.
The Graduate Airport Engineer will accomplish a variety of challenging tasks in support of the Tampa Office Airport Design Group. This group consists of dedicated professionals who are well respected in the industry and are called upon to provide unique and critical consulting services to the entire aviation industry, including local, state, federal and military clients.
The Graduate Engineer will be responsible for a combination of the following duties under the direction of a professional or experienced engineer: • Using prescribed methods and under direct supervision, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer • Applying standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes • Performing standard computations or analysis • Preparing/supervising the preparation of drawings and visual aids • Performing basic survey work • May run models, calculations and design software The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
