AECOM is seeking an experienced California Environmental Quality Act/National Environmental Policy Act CEQA/NEPA professional to help support planning and environmental projects. The position is based in our Bakersfield office.
The environmental specialist will be responsible for supporting clients of medium to large environmental projects and programs. The position also requires active client interaction and proposal participation.
AECOM is known for innovation, high-quality work, high level of client service, and collaborative project teams. Our environmental projects are varied and challenging. Project opportunities are mostly in southern California and the Central Valley, with some opportunities in Arizona and Nevada, but may include work elsewhere in California or the U.S.
Skill Requirements
The candidate must have the ability to participate and work with a team to succeed, solid experience in CEQA/NEPA consulting. Strong analytical, computer, and writing skills are a must.
Experience Requirements
Qualified candidates will have at least 5+ years of direct experience, including preparing CEQA and NEPA documents, implementing compliance monitoring programs, and strong interpersonal and coordination skills. A record of successful environmental planning projects and effective working relationships with clients and regulatory agencies is also preferred. Experience working on energy infrastructure, utility, and oil and gas projects is desired. Some travel required dependent on project dynamics.
