Job Description:  CH2M HILL Air Quality Careers - Edwards Air Force Base, California
The challenge? Keeping the air we breathe clean. Our Air Quality career path is your chance to work on military and government design/build and redesign projects serving as a key team member working with scientists, engineers, project managers and other project staff. Each day, you will work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team providing scientific support to clients. You should be a self-motivated professional with a successful 7 year minimum track record in Air Quality, have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each air quality job.

Our Air Quality Specialists :
  • Have thorough knowledge of typical air-pollution emitting equipment and control equipment.
  • Perform inspections of emission sources, and escort regulatory personnel around the base during regulatory inspections.
  • Perform emission calculations to support reporting requirements and conduct air source emission inventories of identified areas located throughout Edwards AFB.
  • Apply technical and air regulatory knowledge to facilitate coordination with facility and organizational personnel to accomplish air quality tasks.
  • Complete Authority to Construct applications for submittal to local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide support for all air quality compliance and reporting activities; develop and train individuals across the base to maintain base compliance.
  • Support the Air Program Information Management System (APIMS) database.
  • Interpret regulations and rule applicability to include implementation of new requirements.
  • Possess specialized communication skills to include interacting with diverse teams across the contract; ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management; ability to build networks and professional reputation through technical and professional activities.
  • Possess effective technical writing skills, and the ability to determine the most effective method to produce required deliverables within required contract deadlines.
  • Have a basic understanding of federal, state, and local regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, Title III Hazardous Air Pollutants, Title V Permitting and Title VI Ozone Depleting Substances. Previous experience with military installations a plus.
Additional information: This position requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years experience in Air Quality.
