CH2M HILL Air Quality Careers - Edwards Air Force Base, California
The challenge? Keeping the air we breathe clean. Our Air Quality career path is your chance to work on military and government design/build and redesign projects serving as a key team member working with scientists, engineers, project managers and other project staff. Each day, you will work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team providing scientific support to clients. You should be a self-motivated professional with a successful 7 year minimum track record in Air Quality, have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each air quality job.

Our Air Quality Specialists :

Have thorough knowledge of typical air-pollution emitting equipment and control equipment.
Perform inspections of emission sources, and escort regulatory personnel around the base during regulatory inspections.
Perform emission calculations to support reporting requirements and conduct air source emission inventories of identified areas located throughout Edwards AFB.
Apply technical and air regulatory knowledge to facilitate coordination with facility and organizational personnel to accomplish air quality tasks.
Complete Authority to Construct applications for submittal to local regulatory agencies.
Provide support for all air quality compliance and reporting activities; develop and train individuals across the base to maintain base compliance.
Support the Air Program Information Management System (APIMS) database.
Interpret regulations and rule applicability to include implementation of new requirements.
Possess specialized communication skills to include interacting with diverse teams across the contract; ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management; ability to build networks and professional reputation through technical and professional activities.
Possess effective technical writing skills, and the ability to determine the most effective method to produce required deliverables within required contract deadlines.
Have a basic understanding of federal, state, and local regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, Title III Hazardous Air Pollutants, Title V Permitting and Title VI Ozone Depleting Substances. Previous experience with military installations a plus.

Additional information: This position requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years experience in Air Quality.
