Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering with minimum 10 years direct experience in FERC, PUC and environmental permitting of transmission and pipeline construction projects in the northeast.

Project management/business development experience must be in the natural gas pipeline permitting; electric transmission facilities permitting; wind and solar renewable energy project development and permitting; or related energy fields. Demonstrated ability to develop business opportunities in engineering and environmental consulting and successful project and client management experience.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Must have excellent understanding of northeast environmental regulations and excellent working relationships with state and Federal agency personnel, particularly as they pertain to transmission and pipeline construction projects. The ideal candidate would have excellent references from pipeline and utility companies in the northeast.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of date of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.


Job Description:

This position provides the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to build a rewarding career with a dynamic global company. Responsible for building upon existing internal and external relationships and develop new ones to maximize the capture of new work in the areas of support to transmission and pipeline companies. The candidate will have a broad network of corporate resources and staff to build upon. Responsible for the use of technical and regulatory experience in all areas of transmission and pipeline operations and development, from siting and permitting through design and construction. Responsible for preparing effective proposals and oral presentations for the purpose of selling URS' services to clients. The candidate for this position is expected to be a visible presence in the local business community representing URS, and will benefit from success in achieving goals. This position will be part of a multi-disciplined team of professionals working on all aspects of transmission and pipeline projects and will be supported by URS's civil and environmental engineers, geoscientists, biologists, and other staff in the northeast to help expand services and client base. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
