Minimum Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution • State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer in good standing • Minimum 5 years of work experience demonstrating progressively increasing levels of job responsibility, with recent work experience demonstrating job responsibilities matching those identified under paragraph "Incumbent Responsibilities" below • Must be proficient in use of ETAP PowerStation, ESA EasyPower, or SKM electrical system modeling and analyses software • Valid Drivers License • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infrastructure & Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Tampa, Florida office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Engineering Design, specific to commercial and industrial (i.e. fueling, manufacturing process, and water/wastewater) facilities for Federal, State, County and Municipal Governments and commercial clients. The incumbent can look forward to projects including: site infrastructure, office buildings, schools, warehouse, and hangar facilities, bulk fuel storage, pipeline and terminal facilities, and water/wastewater pumping and processing facilities for such clients as the DoD (Air Force and Navy), NASA Kennedy Space Center, FDOT, and Polk and Pinellas County Governments
Incumbent Responsibilities: • Serves as the Engineer of Record for drawings, specifications and reports prepared under their direction • Researches, develops, designs, specifies, and witnesses the testing of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering • Develops and prepares construction cost estimates • Organizes and conducts site visits for purposes of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well defined scopes • Prepares type written reports of results of these site visits • Develops and prepares type written scopes of work for projects without well defined scopes • Develops, designs, and specifies site electrical power infrastructure for systems up to and including 35kV, and site telecommunications infrastructure • Develops, designs, and specifies equipment, components, and materials for electrical power generation, distribution, and utilization systems • Develops, designs, and specifies process and motor control, grounding, lightning protection, site, exterior, and interior lighting, lighting control, fire alarm, security, and telecommunications systems • Directs activities to verify installed electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials conform to the requirements of project contract documents • Uses computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD drafting software, ETAP PowerStation and ESA EasyPower electrical system modeling and analyses software, PullPlannerPro cable/wire pull calculation software, and Visual Pro or AGI32 lighting modeling and analysis software, to perform electrical engineering and design tasks • Coordinates with Geotechnical, Civil, Architectural, Structural and Mechanical disciplines as required to effectively engineer, design, and specify the electrical power, telemetry, control, and lighting systems for projects • Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
