Minimum Requirements:
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• Certified as a TOPS by ITE
• 5 years of traffic operations and electrical design experience, knowledge of traffic/ITS design and maintenance of traffic required.
• Must have engineering design experience in traffic engineering, operations, lighting and ITS design including traffic operations and safety.
• Good Microstation design skills required.
• Ability to manage design staff and communicate design direction clearly is a necessity.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The Transportation Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Traffic/Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Santa Ana office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in traffic/electrical engineering specific to Transportation Design. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including SR-91 Corridor Design Build and Devore Interchange Design/Build projects.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Design Intelligent Transportation Systems, traffic signals, maintenance of traffic, signing and striping, street lights, traffic impact studies, traffic modeling, traffic signal timing of intersections and systems.
• Will supervise the work of CADD Technicians and designer modeling Quality control.
• Address Contractor's request for information and approve contractor equipment submittals.
• Ensure local, state, and federal standards are followed (NEC and IEEE).
