Minimum Requirements: • Minimum Master's degree in Geology or related field • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience • CA Professional Geologist Registration • Experience successfully managing projects with a focus on environmental assessment, site investigation, or remediation activities • Ability to build teams, motivate employees, solve problems, and be goal-oriented • Experience managing proposals, contract negotiations and projects • Strong project and task management, field investigation, remediation, analytical and computer skills • Extensive understanding of California environmental regulations • Experience in business development including proposal preparation and client presentations • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; must be a team-player • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, to maintain flexibility and to work independently with minimal supervision on complex, multi-disciplinary projects • Valid driver's license with a good driving record required • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infrastructure and Engineering Division of URS is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Geologist to join our growing team in San Francisco. The Senior Geologist will work with a pool of colleagues and senior managers who are involved in planning, engineering, environmental or construction.
Responsibilities: • Project management experience with field investigation techniques including monitoring well installation, laboratory analyses, waste characterization, human health screening criteria, interpretation of geologic and chemical data for surface water, soil, soil gas and groundwater • Site Remediation including in situ treatment (ISCO and enhanced biodegradation) and soil removal actions • Prepare scopes of work, budget estimates, schedules and put together teams for projects • Prepare and implement health and safety plans • Conduct data evaluation and prepare reports covering contaminant fate and transport assessment, groundwater monitoring programs, risk-based corrective action, vapor intrusion assessment, institutional controls, and feasibility studies that comply with all federal, state and local regulations • Prepare and execute complex scopes of work and complete projects within scoped schedules/budgets • Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients throughout the project • Serve as client liaison for multiple clients/projects and maintain strong client relationships • Participate in business development activities including proposal preparation, client interviews, and presentations The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
